Kenyans have been told that the two classes of teachers employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) are the same, hold the same position and face the same challenges, but are paid differently.
According to reports by local media, Mwingi West Member of Parliament Charles Nguna has revealed the salary disparity that certified teachers employed by the Teachers Service Commission forced to offer their services.

Charles Nguna said the problem between teachers and employers, the Teacher Service Commission (TSC), started before the 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which includes about 1,000 teachers.
According to additional information, teachers are recruited as teachers in the M category after interviews for senior postgraduate jobs. In 2018, this role will be assigned to the C5 group.
The legislature is of the opinion that there are significant inconsistencies in the fact that some high-ranking postgraduate students are employed as teachers, while others with the same rank remain in the C5 job group instead of the D1 job group.
According to Charles Nguna, the Teacher Service Commission (TSC) and employer issues predate the 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which covers roughly 1,000 instructors.
In accordance with new data, candidates for senior postgraduate roles are interviewed before being hired as teachers in the M category. The C5 group will be given this task in 2018.
The legislature believes there are major discrepancies between the high-ranking postgraduate students who are hired as instructors and those who continue to work in the C5 job group rather than the D1 job group.
