Seven Opportunities at Four Public Universities Announced by the Public Service Commission Now. According to the Public Service Commission (PSC), attractive job opportunities have been created in four public universities in the country.
Honorary Vice Chancellor positions have recently been announced at Maasai Mara University and Kaimosi Friends.
Additionally, Kaimosi Friends University is looking for a qualified Vice Chancellor for Finance, Administration and Institutional Development.
In addition, Chuka University is advertising two Vice-Chancellor positions in areas such as administration, finance, planning, development, academic research and students.
Kibabi University is accepting applications for the position of Vice Chancellor for its commitment to academic excellence and student welfare.

The news comes after the Presidential Workers’ Party for Education Reform (PWPER) proposed major changes to how universities elect their chancellors and vice-chancellors.
The PSC’s involvement in appointing high-level university management has caused complex governance issues in public universities as a result of this reform.
The scheme supports the appointment of university councilors as chancellors, principals and vice-chancellors of public universities.

The advertisement come even after Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms(PWPER) proposed the prohibition of the PSC from recruiting Chancellors, Vice-Chancellors of Universities.
The reform said the practice of involving PSC in recruiting top management of Universities has resulted in challenges in the governance of public Universities.
“The involvement of PSC in the appointment of top management of Universities in Kenya compromises their autonomy and should be discontinued,” reads the statement
