Universities for Medical Research in Kenya. Directive from the President Ruto, Six universities and colleges that will provide care and conduct specialized research on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), respiratory disorders, and other conditions were approved by the Cabinet on Tuesday, February 28.
The cabinet was chaired by Dr. William Ruto the President of Kenya.
Kisii University, Egerton University, Maseno University, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Kibabii University, and Bomet University College, a constituent college of Moi University, are the chosen institutes of higher learning.
The treatment and research of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), respiratory illnesses, sickle cell disease, malaria, HIV, mental health conditions, and cancer would be provided through the universities specified, according to a dispatch from the Cabinet.
As part of the Kenya-UK Health Alliance Framework, the Executive’s top decision-making body also said that it would consider cooperating with the United Kingdom on healthcare issues.
Health has been a tough issue affecting humankind globally. Therefore UK in collaboration with Kenya jas a plan to install Specialized Medical Treatment Research on the above mentioned University in Kenya.
