Nyambaria Boys’ School, known for its strong academic performance in the Ts under recent scrutiny for dishonestyin examination and strict measures have been taken during the investigation. The school’s principal and principal, Charles Onyari, was arrested and sacked after leaked test papers were found in students’ rooms at the commencement of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
In response to these incidents, more intensive measures were taken, including the reported incident where students in Nyambaria were required to strip before entering the examination hall. Abu Makori considered this action not only inappropriate but criminal. He called on the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and the Teachers Service Council (TSC) to review the examination method, saying the method was creating panic among students.
Makori’s statement strongly condemned the abuse of KCSE students in Nyamira and Kisii counties and urged KNEC to stop what it deemed harassment. The call is on the Board of Examinations and the TSC to be held accountable for acts that cause undue stress to students even during exam time.
