Teachers in KUPPET are outraged by TSC’s double deductions

Teachers in KUPPET are outraged by TSC’s double deductions. Deductions from the NSSF have made teachers furious. Teachers are currently on puppet secretary general Akelo Misori’s neck demanding an answer after the national government withdrew sh360 from their monthly pay for the national social security fund (NSSF).

In a letter to Misori dated July 27, Sabala Inyeri, the executive secretary for Kuppet Vihiga, claimed that these deductions came at a time when educators were anticipating receiving their salaries with the 7 to 10% that the president had previously ordered.

Sabala also discussed how the Public Service Superannuation Scheme (PSSS) affected teachers’ access to credit facilities. The higher NSSF deductions also had a negative effect on their payslips. It is therefore difficult for instructors to repay their loans and keep their current insurance coverage.

Because the teachers service commission was unable to implement the 7 to 10% salary raise this month, which was meant to shield instructors from the effects of the various deductions, Sabala continued, teachers now feel vulnerable, abandoned, and demoralized.

Sabala continued, “We now understand that all educators are subject to this NSSF deduction.” They are concerned that the housing levy will also appear on the slips. Instructors were dismayed and worried by the rising NHIF deductions.

The risk of an unsatisfied labor force, which is essential for managing the education sector, was mentioned by him as well. This is due to the long-term job group stagnation of teachers.

Regarding the deductions and the actions Misori has taken to address this issue, Sabala has asked for more information from him. Instructors have suffered as a result of the cuts. Misori must also seek guarantees that such occurrences won’t occur again. Furthermore, it is obvious that this is not the first occasion that instructors have been hit with unanticipated deductions.
