KNEC Declares KCSE Marking and Results Release Date. The 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination timetable has been released. With a total of 903,260 candidates, the exams started projects from January to July 2023, followed by oral, practical and theory papers that took place from 23 October to 24 November, all held at designated examination centres.
Responsibilities were assigned to different officials for different parts of the examination. KCSE projects were supervised by center managers, subject teachers, education directors and Knec officials. Oral, practical and theoretical presentations were conducted by center managers, supervisors, inspectors, quality assurance staff, education directors and Knec officials.
The marking of the KCSE 2023 exams is scheduled from 27 November to 11 December, conducted by Knec examiners at the marking centres. The final phase involves the publication of the results, which is led by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, assisted by officials from the Ministry of Education, the Kenya National Examinations Council, the Teachers Service Commission and the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development. The results will be released from 16th to 22nd December 2023 at Knec, Mitihani House.
A total of 234,473 teachers were involved in the administration of this year’s national exams, serving as exam supervisors, invigilators, center managers and exam recorders. While KCPE results have already been released, KPSEA and KCSE exam marking is currently underway. Notably, 1,415,315 candidates sat the KCPE and 1,282,574 candidates sat for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).
