The State announces workers to start getting Salary after Every 15 Days. Many dairy workers (farmers) have welcomed the government’s announcement that it will start paying them wages every 15 days to show off their farming.
Announcing the plans on Monday, April 8, 2024, President William Ruto said this was the way to go to empower long-suffering workers.
The Head of State paid an impromptu visit to the Eldoret National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) shops on Monday, April 8, 2024.
In his speech, the President promised farmers that from July this year (2024), payments will be released to them every 30 days (monthly) unlike the previous period.
The President further promised that the payments will be made without delay and that every last month will be prompt as well as the salaries paid to the workers in the country.
President Ruto has promised that in future his administration will strive to ensure that all dairy farmers are paid every 15 days.
According to the president, this bi-monthly method of payment to employees will allow farmers to pay the cost of animal feed, among other things.
Furthermore, he did not forget to condemn the current situation where cooperatives withhold farmers’ salary for up to 2 months, which is why their management is a big challenge.
