TSC Initiates Mass Transfer of the Following Sub-County Directors
TSC Initiates Mass Transfer of the Following Sub-County Directors. According to reliable information from Education Highlights, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has moved many Sub-County Directors (SCD) across the nation in an effort to improve service delivery.
In the changes made at the end of this week, Catherine Mathenge, who formerly served as the Naivasha SCD, now assumes a similar role in Kitui West. Elizabeth Nyambura Njihia, who has been sent to Kandara in Murang’a County, will be replaced by her.
Paul Bii, who is currently moving to Naivasha to take over from Ms. Mathenge, will be replaced by Ms. Njihia.
Kipkogei Kutol, the Mwingi East SCD in Kitui County, transfers to the TSC headquarters, where Nicholas Kitai from the Voi Sub-County in Taita Taveta County takes over. Lucy Macharia, the Migwani SCD moves to Kiambaa Sub-County in Kiambu County, which is also in that county. Lawrence Kariuki, the SCD for Tetu in Nyeri County, will fill her position.
In contrast, Catherine Waithera Nairoshi, the Kikuyu SCD in Kiambu County, moves camp to Nyeri County, likely to Tetu, to take Kariuki’s place.
Former Seme SCD Erick Ochieng Magack relocates to Kuria West in Migori County. Benard Rotich, who was transferred to Kesses Sub-County in Uasin Gishu County, will be replaced by him. Joseph Kiptisia, who has been moved to Baringo County’s Marigat Sub-County, will be replaced by Rotich.
Wilson Ng’olekamar, who formerly served in the adjoining Kapsaret Sub-County, has been relocated to the Butere Sub-County in Kakamega, possibly to take the place of William Masai Kipchomus, who is now moving to the isolated Teso North in the surrounding Busia County.
Sammy Rutto, who is currently leaving Rongai Sub-County to take over Kericho County’s Bureti Sub-County, is also involved. Peter Kangwana, the Embakasi/Njiru SCD in Nairobi County, will take over for Rutto.
Anne Wamugunda, the Dagoretti SCD in Nairobi, has been parachuted into Mumias East Sub-County in Kakamega County. Benard Odoyo Wagunda, who has relocated to Pokot North in West Pokot County, will be replaced by her.
Dennis Nyaanga, on the other side, will be replaced by Odoyo as he relocates to a Kitui County sub-county.
Betty Soi, the Kabete SCD in Kiambu County, will now be responsible for reporting to a new station in Murang’a County, which is nearby. At the time this piece was filed, Education News was unable to obtain the identity of her replacement. The Lang’ata/Kibera Sub-County Director is Emmy Kiget, who previously served as the Deputy Director at the Nairobi County Regional office.
Susyline Kimathi, the director of Westlands Sub-County, is also impacted by the modifications. She will now submit a report to a Machakos County Sub-County. At the time of going to press, it was unclear who would take over for her right away. The situation with Jane Muturi, the Makadara/Kamukunji SCD, is comparable. She has been moved to neighboring Kiambu’s Lari Sub-County.
Jackson Mutai, who has been in command of the Kasarani Sub-County in the same Nairobi County, will now also be in charge of the Mathare and Starehe Sub-Counties. Unverified rumors claimed that he will be promoted to the position of Deputy Director at the Nairobi regional office or that he would fill in for the Nairobi County Director.
Henry Nyabuto relocates from Tinderet to Soy Sub-County in Uasin Gishu County in Nandi County. Bremin Rotich of Bungoma County’s Kimilili Sub-County will take his place.
Long-serving Jane Achieng Nyang’iye of Bungoma will relocate to Nyando Sub-County in Kisumu County from Mt. Elgon Sub-County, where she had been living. Jotham Ndunde Korofia, who oversaw Kisumu County’s Nyakach Sub-County, will take her place. On the other side, Nelson Ngare will be replaced at Nyando by Nyang’iye.
Ngare is currently subordinate to Bumula in Bungoma County. However, there were rumors that his transfer was facing opposition from regional officials and would be postponed to a more welcoming location.
David Muruka, the Awendo SCD in Migori, will now relocate to take over Ndhiwa in the adjoining Homa Bay County. John Chepkwony, who previously served as the SCD for Kisumu East, will take his place.
More SCD changes are anticipated in the near future, and Education Highlights will keep you informed as more information becomes available.
