KNEC Now Opens CP2 Portal for Teachers to Register;Check Out. Teachers registered with the Teacher Service Group (TSC) are encouraged to sign up for the Contracted Professional Platform, commonly known as CP2. Managed by the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec), this platform serves as a means of placing contracted professionals during national examinations.
These contracted professions include teachers, security guards and drivers. Kindergarten, elementary and middle school teachers will play an important role in the administration of this year’s test.
By registering their details in CP2, Knec can efficiently deploy these teachers and facilitate payment once the exams are over and the results are published. Knec has planned to administer national examinations for about 2.3 million students, including those taking the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. There will be around 1,415,315 candidates in the KCPE exam and 903,260 candidates in the KCSE exam.
Kenya National Examinations Council Executive Director David Njengere said 1,282,574 students are preparing for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) for Grade 6 students.
In addition, Knec has set salary levels for professionals contracted in 2022, depending on their role and area of operation. These rates vary by state and region.
Knec has introduced new measures to improve exam security. Instead of collecting all the daily test papers in the morning, the center manager, who is usually the head of the school, only collects tomorrow’s papers. Additional bins were purchased to bring the test depot closer to the school, reducing the time it takes to collect and return test documents.
This change is intended to prevent early exposure to afternoon papers. They should collect the question papers from the nearest container, eliminating the need for staff from schools or exam centers to travel to the district container.
According to Knec 2023 exam dates, KCPE and KPSEA exam candidates will practice on Friday, October 27. The three-day test will begin on Monday, October 30 and end on Wednesday, November 1. The KCSE exam will continue, scheduled from November 2 to November 24.
