Ministry of Education Releases Academic Calendar for Term 3 in 2023. The Ministry of Education in Kenya has released the third term school calendar for the 2023 National Examination which includes some important information:
1. All schools must start testing on October 30, 2023.
2. The third term of the 2023 academic year starts on August 28, 2023 and must continue until October 27, 2023 to prepare for the upcoming national exam.
3. Parents are advised to work closely with teachers to ensure that their children have the necessary preparation and a comfortable test period.
In addition, Education Secretary of the Ministry of Education Belio Kipsang said that schools should avoid contact with parents during this time. This includes events such as prayer days, visits and motivational lecture classes for exams.
The government aims to ensure the integrity of tertiary education. To support this, the government will provide all the necessary resources to the school.
Government funding for education includes Ksh16,249,982,722.28 billion in capitation payments to students in primary, secondary and secondary schools. Secondary schools will receive Ksh1.75 billion, free primary education will receive Ksh1.56 billion, and free full-time secondary education will receive Ksh12.9 billion.
These funds are expected to be transferred to individual school accounts by September 20, 2023 to facilitate focus on academic activities and ensure the smooth implementation of the school calendar.
In total, the Ministry of Education has fully funded Ksh 89.4 billion as capitation for primary, secondary and high school education for the financial year 2022-2023.
