TSC Predicts Senior Interns’ collapse as Recruitment Begins Soon
TSC Predicts Senior Interns’ collapse as Recruitment Begins Soon. The Teachers Service Council of Kenya (TSC) plays an important role in overseeing the teaching profession, from registration to recruitment, promotion, remuneration and payment of appropriate salaries.
In the future, TSC will work diligently to overcome the shortage of teachers and provide good compensation to teachers.
One important development is that starting in 2019, teachers who started their careers are now recognized as permanent, retired employees. It provides job security and financial stability for dedicated teachers.
In February this year, TSC engaged almost 20,000 listeners in its employment initiative, focusing specifically on skills and supporting the transition to the Competency Curriculum (KBK) in secondary education.
Some trainees are still on probation, but the plan is to transfer all of them to permanent positions with pension benefits, a major change in Kenya’s teaching job market.
Before the start of the 2024 school year, all elementary and middle school teachers are expected to receive an official confirmation letter that they have moved to a permanent, retired position.
TSC’s proactive approach to safeguarding the future of Kenyan education and the well-being of its teaching workforce is evident through these initiatives. This is a positive step towards addressing the challenges faced by teachers in the country.
