Twice daily collection and administration of the KCPE and KCSE
Twice daily collection and administration of the KCPE and KCSE. Kenya National Examinations Council CEO David Nyngere has given some guidelines to prepare for the 2023 national exams.
Normally, the KCSE exam will have two collection points per day. Papers will be collected tomorrow and returned this evening when the papers are collected.
This was announced at the KNEC headquarters, marking the start of the exam season on Monday.
Jingere announced that starting this year, KCSE papers will be collected twice from the container. They plan to use 576 distribution centers to conduct KCPE exams and 567 containers to distribute KCSE papers.
In addition, Njengere said 82 additional containers have been purchased to facilitate work, especially for newly formed districts that do not have containers. The board has arranged testing centers near distribution points, which may result in some centers collecting materials from neighboring districts or nearby districts.
To enhance security, no unauthorized personnel are allowed in the test center. Jengere said it is important to demand strict compliance from authorized persons such as center administrators, supervisors and whistleblowers at test centers.
Center management must prepare a list of support staff and send it to the district education officer before the exam begins.
The board plans to conduct a comprehensive briefing and sensitization to all exam administrators from October 2 to October 6.
Examinations will be monitored regularly and Njengere has called for visits to examination centers when examinations begin to ensure compliance with examination administration procedures and rules.
He said adequate preparations have been made to avoid disruption due to El Nino rains.
