According to the report of the Teacher Service Commission, high schools will recruit and hire teachers who are currently working within a competency-based curriculum framework.
TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia said in a statement: “Currently, teachers do not need to apply, the Board will immediately recruit and distribute them to secondary schools”.
Pioneer Grade Six students will join JSS, commonly referred to as Grade Seven.
The Ministry of Education is working all the time to ensure that there are enough places for JSS students who will graduate together with KCPE 2022 candidates starting Form 1 in January.
There will be competition for space due to double reception. Currently, according to the Ministry of Education, 2,571,044 students are enrolled in secondary schools.
Of these students, 1,250,649 will be JSS students, while the remaining 1,320,395 Level 1 students will be the second and last system of the 8-4-4 phased out.
