Candidates Forced To Take Exams At Night In North Rift
Candidates Forced To Take Exams At Night In North Rift. A day after the commencement of the Kenya National Certificate of Basic Education and KPSEA examinations, recent reports reveal that candidates in the North Rift faced the unfortunate situation of having to sit the examinations at night due to delivery delays.
According to a report published in Wednesday’s People Daily, hundreds of students found themselves waiting until late at night for sixth and eighth grade exams to begin. In some areas, students were forced to relocate to nearby schools due to impassable roads.
In Samburu, it is reported that students from two schools had to start their exams at 3:00 p.m. and did not finish the last paper until 10:00 p.m. This predicament arose when the bus carrying the exam papers got stuck and a Landcruiser was deployed to deliver the papers later in the afternoon.
It is noteworthy that this situation is disheartening, given that the government has the means to improve the timely and affordable delivery of examinations to hundreds of students in the North Rift. It is worth noting that Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has yet to address the issue, nor have any government officials.
In the meantime, we have to wait for further developments. Please don’t forget to follow, share and leave your thoughts in the comments section below to stay updated with our updates. Thank you for reading.
