ECDE Teachers Denounces Salary Delay
ECDE Teachers Denounces Salary Delay. Concerned about the delay in receiving their pay, early childhood development and education (ECDE) teachers in the county of Nyamira have spoken out.
Despite the fact that their job contracts were set to expire in December, the educators protested to our staff that they had not received compensation for the previous six months.
One of the teachers said they would “love to have the money for us to even start selling vegetables” if they had it.
They have reportedly gotten their April earnings, but their March salaries have been withheld, according to Jane Ong’era, who was employed in March under the terms of permanent and pensionable employment.
She lamented the fact that despite their best efforts, they have been unsuccessful in getting the help they have requested from various offices.
The concerned teachers have now appealed to the governor, Amos Nyaribo, asking him to intervene and assist them in resolving their financial problems.
At a time when the governor is trying to rid the workforce of phantom workers, their complaints are being heard.
