Government Announces 5500 Jobs With Ksh21,000 Pay & Allowances; How to Apply. The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection announced more than 5,500 job openings for Kenyans across 12 counties on Friday, April 7.
The short-term enumeration posts would last 21 days and pay Ksh1,000 per day, according to a notice from the ministry.
“Successful candidates will get Ksh1,000 per day in salary, payable at the end of the 21-day period, based on daily targets specified in the appointment letter.
“To facilitate data collecting, a daily transportation allowance of Ksh 500 shall be paid. Airtime will be offered,” the advertisement said in part.
According to the ministry, the enumerators would gather information from all of the counties.
The counties targeted in the data collection project and the opportunities were Kakamega (971), Kajiado (661), Meru (436), Mombasa (476), Homabay (551), Nyamira (288), Elgeyo Marakwet (287), Bungoma (866), Nyandarua (323), Machakos (481), Kirinyaga (178), and Migori (50).
The government has also stipulated that applicants must dwell in the sub-location and be fluent in the local language, with the exception of major centers that are regarded as metropolitan areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have a minimum mean KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) grade of C-, according to the Ministry (minus).
Applicants must also be proficient with computers.
How to Apply
The application would be submitted online at www.socialprotection.go.ke, according to the information provided.
The announcement stated, in part, that “Only selected candidates will be invited to personally appear before interview/recruitment panels on planned dates, venues, and times to be informed.”
It was suggested that qualified and enthusiastic people submit their applications before the deadline of April 24.
The president announced that from June the people benefiting from government funds under Social Protection will be paid early that the other Civil Servants.
