The government will cancel boarding school from January 2023 for students in grades 1 to 9.
On Tuesday, new Education Secretary-General Belio Kipsang said parents should send their children of primary school age to day school.
A common result of radical policies is that students who transfer to secondary schools enroll in local schools.
“We have to find a way to spend time with the children, the only option is daycare. According to Kipsang, the government is moving to the first nine years of education, or full-time education from Grade 1 to Grade 9.
The government has given a mandate to put JSS in primary schools, so that students can continue their education in schools that already have a place.
According to Kipsang, it is the main responsibility of parents to walk with their children and see the moral principles they aspire to.
We only cooperate with the teacher, but we cannot leave the parents to the teacher, Kipsang. “We cannot overstate our responsibility as parents.”
“Daily training will be the way forward; it’s the only way we communicate with our children. ”
Kipsang made the disclosure while speaking on behalf of President William Ruto at the 18th Kenya Association of Primary School Principals.
Primary school leaders gathered for their annual general meeting at the Sheikh Zayed Children’s Welfare Center in Mombasa.
With a boarding school acceptance rate of 28%, Kenya has the highest number of boarding school students in the world, according to Kipsang.
He said this is different from the global level of 15% in most countries.
