Gov’t Officials Eligible to Receive Monthly Allowance of Ksh150,000. A special responsibility allowance of Ksh150,000 will be available to some government officials should the salary recommended by the salary and Remuneration Commission (SRC) be approved.
Both the Chief Justice, Martha Koome, and the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, are expected to receive the monthly allowance as part of their respective proposed salaries for the fiscal years 2023–2024 and 2024–2025.
The stipend will be given to the officials, in accordance with the justification given by SRC, for any obligations they accept that fall outside the purview of their designated mission.
Other officials who stand to gain from the suggested wage increases include the Principal Judge, the Deputy Principal Judge, and the Deputy Chief Justice, Philomena Mwilu.
The National Assembly and Senate officials have also been picked to receive incentives, among others.
One of the ideas states that “the allowance shall be paid up to a maximum of Ksh150,000 per month to State officers in the Senate and National Assembly whose duties involve added parliamentary leadership over and above the duties stipulated in one’s terms of service, for which a regular salary is paid.” The tasks listed in one’s terms of service, for which one is paid on a regular basis, are in addition to those.
The allowance was given out to chosen offices starting with the fiscal year 2022–2023 in compliance with the standards set by the SRC on a continuous basis.

I told SRC that there is a formula called as the compression formula that is accepted all around the world. We won’t get a pay boost unless management tells me the aforementioned requirements have been met. in the words of Ruto.
