Placement for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) will end by January 16, 2023.
Cs Education, Ezekiel Machgu has promised all education stakeholders that education will be free and fair as the qualification and performance of students will be the guiding mechanism.
In the government’s 100% pass program, all 1.2 million applicants will be placed in various secondary schools.
Secondary schools in Kenya are divided into four groups;
1.National schools
2. Extra County schools
3. County Schools
4. Sub-County Schools
According to the Ministry of Education, applicants with a score above 400 points will be admitted to the national school category A, which includes 35 schools for students with special needs.
Those who scored more than 350 get a chance in the national school category B as well.

Parents can check the secondary schools chosen by their children.
By SMS the candidate index number to 22263 from any system.
SMS costs Ksh. 25.
How to Check Selection Online(www.education.go.ke)
Form one admission letters are posted online in the website www.education.go.ke by the ministry of education.
Follow this procedure to download your copy online.
1. Visit the Ministry of Education website (www.education.go.ke);
2. Choose the county and sub-county where the candidate took the KCPE Exam from;
3. Enter your KCPE index number;
4. Press the “Send” button;
5. To download and print the admissions letter, click on it at the bottom of the page.
Once you’ve downloaded and printed your Form 1, Admission Letter,
Take it to the school where you took the KCPE Exam for endorsement, together with two passport-sized pictures and your results slip.
Present the signed documents and a certified copy of your birth certificate to the secondary school, where you must report after that.
