Intern Teacher To JSS. The Teachers Service Commission has informed legislators that it intends to increase teacher employment. In July 2023, the commission made it clear that it would be hiring 20,000 intern teachers.
The newly hired teachers will be assigned to junior secondary schools to help with the present teacher shortage.
When asked to describe how it prepares for CBC, the commission gave this response. The clock is ticking, therefore students must start learning.
Legislator for Igembe North Julius Taitum requested that TSC act quickly to replace the promoted teachers. There are still some primary school teachers who haven’t been replaced after receiving promotions to junior secondary.
Since the beginning of time, the threat of a teacher shortage has been a problem in the education sector. The panel has had trouble finding solutions for the teacher shortage. Moreover, certain disciplines have had fewer teachers than others. Such situations have been caused by inadequate human resources in some instructional subjects.
Yet, the government has made every effort to remedy the problem. The government has raised the subject of hiring intern teachers, who have been helpful in resolving the problem. Several teachers have also enhanced their education, making them qualified to work with students in junior high and high school.
Also, the problem of a teacher shortage has always existed despite the fact that the aforementioned difficulties are dealt with on a daily basis.
For failing to address the problem, the Teachers Service Commission has drawn condemnation from both sides of the political spectrum. Employing qualified teachers has always been a significant problem.
The commission’s response to the teacher shortage
The commission, however, has not been forgotten. In response, it has said unequivocally that it has employed teachers throughout the nation using the limited resources that are available. Also, it has reassured the public that it is closely collaborating with the administration to find a permanent solution.
In order to address the teacher shortfall, the commission has informed the lawmakers that 20,000 intern teachers will be hired in July. The teachers will be sent to junior secondary schools in order to fill the shortage.
