Indian Scholarships Available For Kenyan Students 2023
Indian Scholarships Available For Kenyan Students 2023. For the academic year 2023–2024, the Government of India has made available forty-eight (48) scholarships to Kenyan students who want to study there for their undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degrees.
These fellowships are provided via the Indian Council for Cultural Relations’ Africa Scholarship Scheme (ASS) (ICCR).
From 20 February 2023 to 30 April 2023, interested students may apply online for these scholarships through ICCR’s A2A Scholarship Portal. In accordance with their preferred course of study, applicants may choose to submit applications to 5 universities or institutions.
Candidates are recommended to visit the websites of their top-choice colleges to familiarize themselves with the course requirements before beginning the application process because each university/institute has its own set of eligibility requirements for the courses it offers.
Engineering (BE/B.Tech) curricula must include Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, or PCM.
Students who want to enroll in PhD programs must upload an overview (proposal) of their study.
Also, candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 30 for undergraduate and graduate programs, and 18 and 45 for PhD programs, at the time the A2A portal opens.
To determine a candidate’s level of English ability, a 500-word essay in the language has been introduced. Also, applicants may also submit their test results—TOFEL, IELTS, etc.—if they are available.
Admission is still considered provisional while universities investigate the legitimacy of the original paperwork. The Indian High Commission in Nairobi will make the decision about the applicant’s scholarship award and provide a letter of award of scholarship once the applicant’s admission has been confirmed by the appropriate Indian university. The Mission’s choice about the distribution of scholarships will be final.
Priority will be given to students who have never before applied for an ICCR scholarship. One round-trip ticket in economy class to the airport closest to the university or institute is included with the scholarship.
Before leaving for India or upon arrival, the chosen candidates will need to present a personal medical insurance policy that is legally needed in India and must have a minimum sum assured of Indian Rupees 5 lakhs ($6800) every year.
Before leaving for India, selected students will need to attend an orientation/briefing at the High Commission’s Education Wing.
Applicants can reach ICCR by email at [email protected] or by phone at +91 8130516503 between 7:30AM to 3:30PM for technical help (EAT).
Send any additional questions you may have about the scholarship to the Education Division at the Indian High Commission in Nairobi through email at [email protected].
