Introduction of New Payroll Numbers for TSC Teachers
Introduction of New Payroll Numbers for TSC Teachers. The Teacher Service Commission (TSC) currently uses the same payroll numbers for all of its workers, including teachers.
The decision to implement the UHRS, or Unified Human Resource System, an integrated human resources system, by the national government was the reason for the action.
The Head of the Public Service recently informed all Public Service organizations of this decision, ushering in a new era of streamlined and integrated HR practices.
This innovative technology will act as the central repository for all data related to human resources in the public sector, including crucial information like payroll data.
One of the suggestions in the CARPS Report (2015) was to develop a “Unified Human Resource and Payroll Number generating system (UHR and IJPN) for the Public Service.” The Allocation System for Unified Payroll Numbers (UPN) mandates that each public employee receive a distinctive and permanent identifying number.
TSC decided to provide each of its payroll members, including teachers, a unique UPN number starting in March 2023.
The T-Pay System uses two unique identifiers, the TSC/Employment number and the UPN, also referred to as the payroll number.
TSC recently developed the online T-Pay application platform for employees and third-party firms to complete check-off deductions in an effort to manage third-party checks more effectively.
Through the TSC initiative T-Pay, teachers who have registered with the commission can check their online payslips.
To access the services on the portal, teachers only need their TSC number and password to log in.
