Kibabii University selected as a KUCCPS support centre
Kibabii University selected as a KUCCPS support centre. The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has chosen Kibabii University in Bungoma County as a hub.
Prof. Ipara Odeo, vice chancellor of the university, said in an interview with Education Highlights from his office that the change will allow students, particularly those from the Western area, to submit their requests for placements at universities, colleges, and TVET institutions.
“This is a unique chance for our cherished University. Let’s make good use of it because it will help students nationwide who want to enroll in higher education institutions, said Odeo.
Prof. Odeo praised the national government for providing possibilities for all children who took the KCSE exams, stating that anyone can enroll in their preferred university, college, or TVET institution to further their education.
He emphasized that before permitting a student to continue with the course, the KUCCPS helps students wanting to enroll in higher education institutions through sifting and checking on the grade distribution.
He advised students who didn’t receive grades suitable for direct admission to universities to enroll in middle level colleges, pursue their preferred courses, and then continue on to degree-granting programs at universities.
The government was urged by the television network to increase university funding and release cash on schedule so that programs could air without interruption.
