Kenya usually holds general examinations after every one year, last month marked the start of national exams in the country. Grade six candidates sat for their exams after which they will transit to junior secondary school under the competence based curriculum.
Class eight candidates sat for their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education which will enable them to join secondary schools under the 8-4-4 system of education.
Unlike the KCSE where you can do more subjects than the one which will be graded, in KCPE all the five subjects which are Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, science and social studies & religious education are all graded, each of the subject has 100 marks which means the highest a student can score is 500 marks. Below is the grading system that is used to grade KCPE results:
Expected KCPE Results Date
The KCPE results were concluded last week on Wednesday, due to technology, marking of the KCPE papers is done with a special machine which recognizes the marked options where they are the correct ones or not. Only English composition and Kiswahili lugha will require teachers to mark.
In the previous KCPE exams, results were released even before the end of KCSE exams. Therefore we have no doubt that the KCPE results will be released within this month.
