KNEC Advertises KCSE Examiners Training, How to Apply. The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will provide training to examiners for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
The training will take place between August 13 and August 19, 2023, according to a notice made public on Tuesday.
According to KNEC CEO David Njengere, only those who make the short list will pay the training fee of Sh10,500.
According to Njengere, “The applicants will be instructed on how to make the payments through a text message and the portal.
After paying the training fee, the shortlisted candidates would be advised of the training venue, he said, adding that the exercise would be entirely residential.
Then, he continued, KNEC will employ such examiners in accordance with the standards for hiring examiners based on the staffing needs for each paper.
He pointed out that teachers who are already qualified to give the KCSE exams and are listed in the KNEC database of examiners need not apply.
He stressed the need for applications from interested and qualified instructors for test papers in Kiswahili (Insha, Lugha, Fasihi), mathematics, physics, chemistry, geography, home science, Islamic religious education, agriculture, French, Arabic, and business studies.
Candidates must hold a secondary teaching license in the relevant subject area to be considered.
He or she must be registered with and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and hold a certificate in education or higher.
They must have at least three years of teaching experience and cannot be the subject of an interdiction or any other TSC disciplinary action.
Candidates must also be under 50 years old and have the endorsement of their institution’s leader.

Applicants should access the KNEC examiners’ portal to submit their applications.
“Those with Cp2 accounts should log into the portal using their usernames and passwords,” Njengere said.
“After a successful login, complete filling out your personal profile and save. Candidates can choose from all of the specified positions by clicking “Apply for Training” on the dashboard.
Only a set number of training positions were open, he explained, and the online application portal would close when that amount was met.
According to KNEC, the KCSE exams will start on October 23 and end on November 24, 2023.
The sessions will take place on October 19 and 20, 2023.
