KNEC Examiners to be Paid as From Tomorrow
KNEC Examiners to be Paid as From Tomorrow. According to Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, the government would begin paying examiners’ dues this week for the national exams held by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) in 2022.
For this reason, Sh. 2 billion, according to CS Machogu, had been put aside to ensure that all outstanding payments to vendors, contract authorities, and KNEC examiners were paid.
The local MP, Gitonga Mukunji, spoke on Saturday at Kangaru School in Manyatta Constituency, Embu, at the first-ever Education Day.
The CS said that his ministry will emphasize fast payment to examiners going forward in order to prevent similar delays from occurring again.
The Sh. 2.5 billion that was owed to the contractors who built the Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) courses has started to be paid, according to Machogu, as of last week.
He said that in addition to the 36,000 teachers hired last year, the ministry will hire 24, 000 more teachers this fiscal year in order to lower the student-teacher ratio.
He praised the MP’s suggestion that secondary school students receive career guidance and information from a variety of stakeholders and professionals.
He added that it is a game-changer for choosing the future career paths of the young minds.
In order to provide youngsters with job knowledge early enough in their school careers in accordance with their skills and attributes, the CS asked other constituencies to follow suit.
