KNEC: KPSEA results for Grade 6 to be released on 16th Monday 2023.
On Monday, January 16, more than 1.26 million students who took the Class 6 final will receive their results.
A senior Knec official told local media that his initial intention to release the results on Monday would not change.
“We are working on this as we promised in December and if the council has something to communicate, we will have results on Monday,” the official said.
KNEC CEO David Njengere said the results will be announced in three reports when the KCPE results are released in December.
This is in response to the Education Review Panel’s recommendation to eliminate the KPSEA as a grade 7 placement measure.
“We will go back to KICD and tell the areas that need to be corrected in the curriculum and we will do the same with TSC,” Njengere told the media.
Ultimately, the test board chose to use the results to evaluate the progress of the competency-based curriculum.
This means that the score will not be used to determine which school students will attend when they enroll in primary school.
“This will guide teachers in areas that need intervention in teaching and learning,” said Njengere.
The report is divided into three parts:
Individual student reports,
special school report and
National report on school-based assessment and summative assessment.
National reports will be used to inform education stakeholders about areas that need intervention.
“The report will show the percentage of students who are consistent in the level in each subject,” he said.
Jengere said the TSC results will help identify areas where teachers fail to deliver.
Even through the professional development of teachers, TSC can influence specific areas that need improvement.
“It will be used as an assessment to monitor learning progress and provide feedback to education sector players on areas that require intervention,” the report said.
The role of the Ministry of Education will focus on equality, access to education and all the work of the Central Bank.
