KUCCPS 2023 Reopens Application for 13,000 Teaching Opportunities; How to Apply. The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), which places students in diploma teacher training programs, opened its online application portal on Saturday, July 15.
At Kangaru School in Embu, where he presided over an education and career guidance day, Ezekiel Machogu, the cabinet secretary for education, made the announcement that applicants will be vying for 13,439 slots in the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) and Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) programmes.
The basic minimum required for qualification is a mean grade of C (plain) on the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam.
There won’t be any new prerequisites for the curriculum, according to the Education CS.
According to him, the 32 public teacher training institutions will be served by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), which has just inaugurated its online application portal.
According to KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Mercy Wahome, who spoke at the same event, the gateway would be open until July 28, 2023.
All qualified KCSE certificate holders, including non-Kenyans who took the exam in 2022 or earlier up till the year 2000, according to Wahome, are eligible for the choice.
11,358 places are open for enrollment in the DPTE program, whereas 2,081 slots are available in the DECTE program.
In an address to the students at Kangaru School, the CEO of KUCCPS advised them to connect their Form One and Form Two subject selections with their long-term career ambitions.
Additionally, she advised Forms Three and Four students to select courses at universities and institutions that would best fit their interests, strengths, and financial circumstances.
Wahome also advised the children to focus their career decisions on their academic prowess and areas of strength.
No matter how well they perform academically, all students should have the chance to continue higher education, according to Cyrus Gituai, the chairman of the KUCCPS Board.

How to Apply
- Interested parties must sign in at students.kuccps.net in order to apply.
- To log in, enter your password, KCSE year, and KCSE index number.
- Visit the placement site to reach the Teacher Training Colleges (TTC) programmes tab.
- Both DPTE and DECTE applications are available. A list of the 32 recognized training colleges will be available, along with the price for the first year.
- Only the code is needed for the application.
- When done, select “Apply Now.”
