KUCCPS Affordable Degree Programs in Various Universities. The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened the application portal, allowing 2022 KCSE candidates to apply and change their selected university programs, after months of anticipation.
Candidates for the KCSE who choose public institutions are eligible for both government loans and scholarships, whereas those who choose private universities are only eligible for government loans.
According to the KUCCPS portal, 30 private colleges and 39 public universities are eligible for Higher Educations and Loan Board (HELB) loans. 189 public colleges run by the Ministry of Education are qualified for HELB loans and government grants.
In contrast, seven TVET (technical and vocational education and training) programs were chosen.
Bachelor of Commerce
B.COM is one of the most marketable degrees for hiring people for positions in business management. A C average is required, along with an A or B in arithmetic, to cross the barrier for cluster points.
The total cost of attendance at Pan Africa Christian University is Ksh312,000 per semester, while Management University of Africa has the lowest tuition at Ksh78,600.
Lukenya University charges Ksh86,200 for the course, Mount Kenya University Ksh105,00, Zetech University Ksh130,600, and Gretsa University Ksh132,000.
On the other hand, for the first academic year, the course costs Ksh220,150.
Bachelor of Arts in Education
The lowest tuition for this course is Ksh82,350 at the Kiriri Womens University of Science and Technology. For Ksh283,135 at Kisii University, the same course is offered. When the portal launched, the information was made public.
Mount Kenya University’s tuition is Ksh15,000, while KCA University’s is Ksh88,540. The annual tuition for the programme at Kenyatta University is Ksh183,600.
Law
When compared to Mount Kenya University’s Ksh170,000 tuition costs, Daystar University’s Bachelor of Law program requires students to pay the highest tuition rate of Ksh335,000.
At Ksh183,000, Ksh183,600, and Ksh183,600, respectively, Chuka University, Kenyatta University, and Maseno offer the most affordable rates.
The annual tuition at Embu University is Ksh42,000, of which Ksh23,000 and Ksh19,000 are spent on the first and second semesters, respectively.
A student needs spend Ksh221,850 per year to study law at UoN. The prerequisite cluster point for students intending to pursue a legal education is a mean grade of B.
Nursing
The bachelor of science in nursing is another useful education for people who want to pursue careers in the health sciences.
The lowest cluster point has a mean grade of C+.
The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), which charges an annual fee of Ksh188,200, is the institution with the lowest cost for the program. Daystar University, which costs an annual fee of Ksh340,000, is the most expensive institution.St. Paul’s University, Presbyterian University, South Eastern Kenya University, and Pwani University all have affordable tuition rates of Ksh229,450, Ksh251,700, and Ksh275,400, respectively.
Engineering
Students who want to study electrical engineering and civil engineering at any of the universities that offer the degree programs must pay an average of Ksh300,000.
