KUCCPS Minor Errors that Costed Applicants
KUCCPS Minor Errors that Costed Applicants. On May 17, the Education Cabinet Secretary opened the portal and announced that courses chosen at public institutions would only be eligible for government loans and scholarships, while courses chosen at private colleges would be eligible for government loans.
A director from Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) stated on Wednesday, June 7, that certain candidates would not get accepted to universities since they failed to submit their applications.
According to John Olouch, director of placement coordination and career development at KUCCPS, some candidates were skipping the final crucial step in the application process by leaving courses in the portal’s basket.
The director claims that those who were impacted did not carefully follow the directions.
When the application window closes, the system will display that the crop of candidates with options still in the basket did not submit any applications.
A Basket’s Functions
The director asserts that a basket behaves similarly to a supermarket cart in a store when candidates select various courses from a larger pool of courses available on the KUCCPS website.
They are required to select from that basket however many courses they want at random. Before submitting the application, the candidates might later narrow their options.
Olouch, a former lecturer at Rongo University, saw that a few applicants failed to turn in their coursework and left it in the basket.
“Users of the portal can select from more than 100 courses that are provided by all universities. They pick them up and temporarily tuck them into the basket. He stated they may put more items in the basket than they had to.
“When they return, they will have cut their list down and be working on their courses. Some students could not have understood what they were reading, or they might have thought that by adding the courses to the basket, they had already submitted their applications.
“That is similar to picking out items at the store, placing them in a cart, and then checking out. the doesn’t mean the person has to buy everything in the shopping cart. He claimed that others may be picked out and brought back.
Decisions about college or university placement must have submitted by Wednesday, June 7.
The uprising issues are beinv escalating from some few KCSE 2022 Candidates who missed to meet the deadline and the same will be sorted.
