MoE Alters Term 2 2023 Dates
MoE Alters Term 2 2023 Dates. The midterm dates for the second term will alter, according to a letter from the Principal Secretary for Basic Education, Belio Kipsang, dated April 24, 2023.
The second term’s midterms, according to the document, would be held from June 29 to July 2. The date, however, has been modified from June 27 to July 1 of 2023 by this PS.
In order to attend the KESSHA conference, Kahi Indimuli, the chairperson of the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA), requested that the PS adjust the dates.
In order to attend the 46th KESSHA meeting, the KESSHA chairman requested that the second term’s midterm dates be moved back. The mail was seen by our team.
Permanent Secretary Belio Kipsang has written about the changes in the letter below.
REF: APPLICATION TO EXTEND MIDTERM DEADLINES
There is a letter about this issue from the National Chairman of the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association, dated March 26, 2023 and given the reference number KESSHA/NATCONFF/3/VOL.1/23.
The letter points out that the midterms for the second term are currently set for the same dates as the KESSHA 46th National Conference.
The Ministry knows that the National KESSHA Conference is a big deal because it gives school managers a chance to look back and talk about how they run their schools.
So, the election dates for the second term of 2023 have been changed to start on June 27 and end on July 1, 2023.
All school Heads have to pay attention to the times and stick to them.
DR. BELIO R. KIPSANG
PRINCIPAL SECRETARY
Following all of these modifications, the new terms’ dates are as follows.
The times shown above apply to all Kenyan schools, both primary and secondary.
The term dates are also likely to be influenced with financial crisis in many schools. This is due to delayed capitation to all schools in Kenya.
