Payrise Approval by SRC for County Speakers. A wage raise for county assembly speakers and MCAs has been granted by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

Beginning in July, the new MCA pay rate will be Sh154,481 per month, rising to Sh164,588 in the fiscal year 2024–2025.

County assembly speakers’ gross remuneration will increase from its present level of Sh525,525 to Sh562,312 as of July 1 and subsequently to Sh601,674 as of the 2024–25 fiscal year.

The SRC is proposing a yearly Ksh10,000 rise for MCAs, which is less than what they had clamoured for.

In the upcoming fiscal year, the majority and minority leaders’ salaries will increase from Sh144,375 to Sh191,324 and they will earn a Sh62,400 committee sitting stipend for each committee they preside over.
