Primary Headteachers Deployment Letters To JSS As Principals Issued
Primary Headteachers Deployment Letters To JSS As Principals Issued.Official letters of deployment designating primary school headteachers to assume the role of junior secondary school principals have been distributed.
This week, the school heads received letters from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) through its Sub County Directors, making the management mandate effective.
TSC did not consider the headteacher’s credentials as long as he or she had junior secondary students residing at the school before issuing deployment letters. This comes after an outcry in teacher shortage in Junior Secondary Schools. The Teachers Service Commission hired 30,000 teachers this year to Junior Secondary School for Grade 7 learners.
It’s still unclear whether junior secondary will soon have additional administrators. There are still a lot of open positions in this type of school.
These positions include those of Senior Master, Deputy Principal, and Department Heads, among others.
The Commission announced that the application for the deployment of primary school teachers has been revived and will remain open until March 22nd through its social media platforms.
The application time for deployment to junior secondary schools has been extended by the Commission. Reopening the portal is now possible. Applications from qualified primary school teachers are encouraged. To use the portal, click to https://tsconline.tsc.go.ke/tsc-teacher/login.
