At CBC’s initial time, the 2023 hopeful is currently in sixth grade in the 8-4-4 system.
The sixth grade (6) enters the seventh grade of junior high school which is in elementary school.
The middle school will teach grades 7, 8, and 9.
The first group of students who entered the new 2-6-3-3-3 Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) program will enter secondary school in 2023 after completing the Grade 6 National Examination (KPSEA).
The government, through the Ministry of Education, decided that the secondary school would be placed in the primary school.
The government has promised to improve the Junior Secondary School (JSS) to be new and equipped.
The Ministry of Education and the Department of Teachers chose to send trained primary teachers to secondary schools to address the teacher shortage.
Primary school teachers who meet the following requirements are eligible to teach high school students.
Qualification (secondary option) but lack of C+ in KCSE or subject teaching
In addition, the Teacher Service Commission (TSC) has commissioned details of qualified primary teachers to teach in primary secondary schools.

Primary school teachers, teachers who have upgraded their PTE certificates to diploma certificates and degrees, can now explore the future of teaching in secondary schools.
TSC believes, however, that primary school teachers with secondary teaching certificates will be allowed to teach in junior high schools.
It is estimated that there are approximately 17,000 secondary school management qualifications.
TSC is targeting more than 60,000 teachers to manage Year 7 students later this month.
