Teachers to Provide the Following Documents for Completion of Promotions. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) promotion letters for primary and upper primary teachers who attended interviews in December and January are just around the corner.
Director General and Secretary of TSC Dr. Nancy Macharia has already said that promotional letters will start pouring in this week.
More than one hundred and fifty thousand teachers were shortlisted to attend the TSC promotion interviews.
However, only 36,505 promotional letters will be published under the TSC September 2023 promotion advertisement.
Letters of Regret will be issued by the Commission to the unsuccessful teachers who have attended the interviews.
Successful applicants will be issued letters of promotion and will be required to submit five Chapter Six documents to complete the promotion and enable publication.
Below are five documents that are mandatory under Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on “Leadership and Integrity”.
- A valid certificate of good conduct from the Directorate for Criminal Investigation (DCI) costs 1,050.-
- A Certificate of Approval from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) is free
- A tax certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is free
- The investigation by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is free
- Approval certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) costs 2,200/-
In September of last year, the Commission advertised a total of 36,505 vacancies for primary and higher school teachers.
Interviews for primary school teachers took place from 4 to 15 December 2023.
Secondary school teachers and Teacher Training College (TTC) lecturers were interviewed from 3 to 16 January 2024. Teachers will create these documents to complete their promotion
