TSC 2024 Updated Teacher Salary Scales in Accordance to the 2021–2025 CBA
TSC 2024 Updated Teacher Salary Scales in Accordance to the 2021–2025 CBA. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has revealed substantial adjustments to teachers’ pay scales in the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).
As teachers transition to the new scales during the two phases of implementation beginning July 1, 2023, they will be able to continue using their existing increment data.
According to the TSC circular, annual salary increases would continue in line with the 2015 Code of Regulations for Teachers.
The housing allowance amount, grading scheme and designations have been carefully scrutinized.
Among the job titles and scales covered by the recently implemented TSC grading system are principal primary teachers.
Each grade is associated with a specific T-scale and Housing Benefit rates are currently divided into four geographical groups.
The circular provides thorough conversion tables for the new pay scales, which include Principals, Senior Principals, Principals, Deputy Principals, Senior Masters, Senior Lecturers and others.
This announcement was made on 28 August 2023 following the signing of an amendment to the 2021-2025 CBA by the Teaching Service Commission and a number of teachers’ unions.
The TSC remains steadfast in its emphasis on the need to comply with new pay structures as well as entry and career progression requirements.
The pay and professional development of Kenyan teachers have improved significantly as a result of this increase.
