The process of recruiting, paying and promoting qualified teachers across the country is under the jurisdiction of an independent body known as the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
In January, TSC plans to hire about 30,000 teachers. Many of these teachers go to primary schools to fill the gaps left by in-service teachers sent to secondary schools.
TSC has made points available to the public for business engagement. According to the latest score report, some part of unemployed teachers will do well.
The Ministry of Education received government funding to ensure TSC was adequately staffed to address the teacher shortage affecting many schools.
Commission, now led by Dr. Nancy Macharia as CEO, has worked hard to ensure that the school has enough qualified staff.
More than 6,000 permanent posts for teachers in primary and secondary schools have been promised by TSC in its latest advertisement.
