86,000 Shortlisted C1 Teachers To Battle It Out For Promotion To C2. A total of 86,000 teachers who were selected in the C1 job group will compete to be promoted to Senior Teacher II (T-Scale 7 Class C2) in December.
Teachers will compete to fill 10,819 posts advertised for Senior II Teachers in regular primary schools and 700 posts for Senior II Teachers in special schools.
TSC Promotion Interview for Teachers will start from 4th to 15th December 2023 in some districts selected by the Commission.

Applications are made online and continue until September 15. About 150,000 teachers have been nominated to participate in promotional interviews.
This is the highest number of teachers registered by the Board for promotional interviews.
In one of the invitation letters seen by Teachers Arena, C1 teachers who applied for promotion through advertisement number 61/2023 must mention these seven things during the interview.
1) Original National Identity Card
2) Original academic and professional certificates
3) Letter of appointment for the current class
4) Current appointment letter (if any)
5) Analyzed results of individual subjects in three years of KCPE/KCSE examinations approved by the TSC District Head/District Head.

Successful applicants will be required to submit five chapters and six documents before the bank approves them.

Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) 1,050/-
The payment certificate from the Higher Education Loan Agency (HELB) is free
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) tax compliance certificate is free
Free from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
2200/- for a clearance certificate from the approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
The board will upgrade successful candidates to grade C2 and send them to other schools in the district.

Duties and Responsibilities of Senior Teacher II (C2)
(1) Prepare lesson plans, lesson notes, schedules, task charts, and maintain academic standards in the school to ensure that the curriculum is presented in the assessment;
(2) Teaching special courses to provide students with knowledge and skills;
(3) assess students in specific subjects and prepare them for national and other examinations;
(4) Give new ideas and programs to improve teaching and learning in vocational subjects;
(5) Work together through collaborative planning and teaching to ensure consistency and curriculum improvement;
(6) Be a role model to create a conducive learning environment and maintain student discipline;
(7) Provide guidance and counseling services to students to promote norms and values for a peaceful life;
(8) Organize workshops/seminars/symposiums to share ideas and gain more knowledge about subjects;
(9) Determine remedial measures to support students with performance gaps.
