Closing Dates Revealed For Schools in 2023. Earlier on from the Ministry of Education (MoE) released the school calendar for 2023. The school calendar was slightly affected by the corona period where learners spent more days at home. This greatly affected the school curriculum and programmes.
In 2023, normalcy was anticipated to return since KCSE for 2022 was done by the end of September hence schools opened on February though slightly late.
After a three-day break for the midterm last week, students in all primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Kenya reported back and started their studies on Monday, March 19, 2023.
At the start of their first term on January 25th of this year, the students had recently completed about eight weeks of learning.
According to the school calendar, the first term should have lasted a smooth thirteen weeks of instruction, but instead, all students will now take a two-week break before classes resume for the second term of the academic year.
According to the Ministry of Education’s school calendar, all primary and junior and senior secondary schools in Kenya must now close as of Friday, April 21, 2023. They will then take a two-week break from Saturday, April 22, to Saturday, May 7, 2023. On May 8, 2023, they will reopen for a second term.
