KUCCPS General Inter- Institution Transfer Application Procedure
KUCCPS General Inter- Institution Transfer Application Procedure. The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened the online application site for inter-institutional transfer (IIT) applications. The application process is open for KCSE applicants who have been admitted into a variety of universities and TVET programs but wish to transfer to another institution.
When transferring, you can change both the institution and the course, going from:
- Degree to Degree
- Diploma to Diploma
- Degree to Diploma
- Diploma to Degree
Students are selected for admission to universities, national polytechnics, technical training facilities, and other authorized higher education institutions for Government of Kenya-sponsored programs by a State Corporation named Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS). Also available is career counseling.
To be qualified for the programs to which they are moving, an applicant must meet the necessary cut-off points and have their transfer application approved. Both the receiving and releasing institutions, who can now do this electronically, must also approve a transfer application. As a result, students won’t need to visit the institutions in person.
General Inter-Institutional Transfer Application Procedures for KUCCPS
The following information should be known by candidates.
- The student portal (students.kuccps.net) is the ONLY way to submit any inter-institution transfer applications to KUCCPS. Printing the completed application form is no longer necessary because everything is automated.

- A transfer can only be successful if it receives the approval of both the university or college where the applicant is already enrolled and the university or college to which the applicant wishes to transfer.
- One must meet the required minimum requirements and cutoff points in order to apply.
- The IIT processing fee should only be paid when the applicant has successfully completed all necessary application stages by adhering to the portal’s guidelines. Don’t make any upfront payments.
- All candidates are cautioned against paying anyone who offers to help them. To use the Placement Service, candidates are not obliged to send money to any cell phone numbers.
- While applying, a student has the option to switch both the course and the institution, or they can stay in the same course while switching.
- You will be required to pay a processing charge of Ksh 1,000, and you should only do so when the system prompts you to do so. To make payments, use the KUCCPS Paybill Number 820201.
