KUCCPS Releases Timeline for 2022 KCSE Candidate Course Applications
KUCCPS Releases Timeline for 2022 KCSE Candidate Course Applications. The portal for registering for courses for KCSE candidates in 2022 will open in a week, according to Mercy Wahome, CEO of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
Universities and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) must provide information on the cost of their academic programs before the portal may be launched.
We will be prepared to launch once the universities have provided us with their expenses, which I expect they will accomplish in a week, according to Wahome.
President William Ruto gave KUCCPS the go-ahead to publish the data in order to aid students in choosing their preferred universities.
To allow the government additional time to consider the new funding strategy, the portal’s inauguration was postponed. Involved parties, such as Vice Chancellors and David Ndii, the head of the Presidential Council of Economic Advisers, were praised by the President for developing the new model.
The President reaffirmed that, in accordance with the new paradigm, the selection of students for colleges and TVETs would not be based on financial aid.
We came to the conclusion that it was time to work out the model. I’m happy to report that the model benefited greatly from the participation of these VCs.
In order to improve educational quality and draw in more students, the new funding model mandates that universities and TVETs raise additional funds.
Four financing streams are included in the model: grants for capital infrastructure, grants for research, grants for students, and fee-for-services, which includes consulting.
The government will focus on the other three funding choices after creating the framework for student-centered funding.
The President said he was happy to have finally finished the new financial mechanism, which had been put off for years.
He stated that vice chancellors contributed to the model’s creation and that their ideas were combined to create the funding mechanism.
