In his speech at Kisii University, Machogu said no further recruitment will be given and the university will focus on the recruitment of teachers and the core mandate of the university.

Machgu expressed the government’s commitment to solving funding challenges in public universities and making education accessible to the underprivileged.
He said the government had released capital funds to ease financial constraints, but it was delayed due to the ministry’s strict assessment.
The CS reaffirmed the government’s commitment to resolve pending university bills and improve student housing, with plans to build university dormitories for 10,000 students by early 2024.
As for the new model of financing universities, Machogu disclosed that the scholarship program is categorized to help those who are truly in need and guarantee the education of the poor.
He also commended the Vice Chancellor of the organization, Prof. Natan Ogechi, for carrying out reforms in the institution.
