New Term Dates 2023 Released Officially. Since 2020 March Term dates were highly affected by Covid-19 hence the Ministry of Education led then by Prof. Magoha had to adjust yearly term dates. Now in 2023 we are back to a full year session like before, therefore according to Dr. Belio Kipsang, principal secretary for basic education, most recent circular;
Dates for the First Term
- The first term will take place from January 23 through April 21, 2023.
- From March 16 to March 19, there will be a three-day first term midterm break.
- The first week of term will be off from April 22 to May 7, 2023.
Term Dates of Two Terms
- May 8 through August 11 of 2023 will make up the second term.
- The halfterm of the second term will be from June 29 to July 2, 2023.
- Holiday period for the second term: August 12 to August 27, 2023.
Dates for the third term
- From August 28 through October 27, 2023, is Term 3.
- In term 3, there won’t be a break for the students.
- 3rd Term December Holiday For students who choose not to take the national exams: from October 28, 2023, to January 8, 2024.
2023 Term of National Examinations:
- 2023 Examinations for KCPE and KPSEA: Exams for the Knec will be administered to Grade Six students (KPSEA) and KCPE candidates from October 30 to November 2, 2023.
- The KCSE exams for 2023 will start on November 3 and last through November 24.
- Exam marking will be completed by December 15, 2023.

- KCPE & KPSEA 30/10/2023 to 02/11/2023 taking 4 days
- KCSE 03/11/2023 to 24/11/2023 taking 3 weeks
- KCSE MARKING 26/11/2023 to 05/12/2023
