Chief Principals fall under job group D5. Currently, they receive a whopping 157,656 shillings every month. They currently earn the highest salaries among teachers.
Senior principals are the intended audience for grade D4 job group. They currently receive a monthly salary of 121,890 Shillings in total. Monthly pay for grade D3 principals is 104,644 Shillings.

2023–2025 TSC New Salary Structure For Teachers
Due to an increase in the collective bargaining agreement, the teachers’ salary has changed (CBA). The teacher who receives the highest monthly salary is a main principle teaching grade D5.
Senior Principals in Grade D4 jobs earn Ksh 121,890 each month, compared to Ksh 104,644 for Principals in Grade D3.
Deputy Principals II T-Scale 12 (D2) now take home a monthly pay of KSh 91,041 just like their counterparts, Deputy Principals III T-Scale 11 (D1), who make between KSh 77,840 and KSh 85,269 per month.
New TSC Salary Structure For Teachers 2023-2025
Tutors in job group/grade C4 (senior master IV) are paid a monthly salary of Ksh 52,308.
Additionally, they are qualified for the following advantages:
- a commuting allowance of up to Ksh 8,000 per month,
- a maximum annual leave amount of Ksh 6,000, and
- a monthly housing allowance of up to Sh28,000 each month.
The implementation of the CBA’s last phase has resulted in teachers moving to new, higher pay rates. The new base salaries for teachers under TSC are shown in the table below.
