Online Replacement of Lost Certificates;KCPE and KCSE. Your KCPE certificate may have been destroyed or misplaced. The Kenya National Examinations Council (KCPE) has developed a policy for the replacement of certificates in situations like yours, so that is fantastic news.
On March 2, 2009, the organization put into effect a rule to restore lost credentials dating back to 1981. Furthermore, it said that a person could only ask for their certificate to be replaced once.
Personal Application

Visit the KNEC website to download the replacement certificate forms. You can physically fill out this form by visiting the KNEC Archives & Records department. Enter your personal information and affix the corresponding supporting documents.

- a school’s recommendation letter or letter of completion
- legal affidavit sworn in
- Police abstract showing a certificate loss
- Birth certificate, passport, or identification card
- Bank deposit slip for KNEC
For a total cost of 5,800 per certificate, the expenses for a Replacement Certificate are as follows: KE 5,000/= + 16% VAT KE 800/-. The following banks’ branches where the KNEC collection accounts are located should be used to pay the fees:
- Cooperative Bank of Kenya
- Equity Bank
- National Bank of Kenya
- Kenya Commercial Bank [These banks offer KNEC deposit bank slips]
The KNEC bank slips are available at either of the aforementioned banks. When submitting the form, the bank slip should be included as proof of payment.
Submit the application
After completing the form, double-check the information to make sure it is correct. After that, mail the papers in a sealed envelope to Kenya National Examination Council Council Secretary, P.O. Box 73598-00200, City Square, Nairobi.
After filing the necessary documentation to replace a lost KCSE and KCPE certificate, you must wait sixty working days before picking up the replacement records. Likewise, the certificates are only available for pickup at KNEC offices.
A valid ID must be presented by applicants when they arrive at the office location. Minors must be accompanied by their parents or guardians wherever original identification and birth certificates are required.

Replacement certificates need to be picked up two years after application. If you are unable to accomplish this, the document will be discarded without your consent.
