TSC Administrator Interviews Guidelines. The guidelines for the current promotional interviews have been published by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). 13,713 school administrators who will be filling vacancies that the Commission announced in January 2023 are the main target of these interviews.
TSC sub-county or county directors are on the panel interviewing the teachers who made the short list; they serve as the panel’s chair and speak for the commission chairperson.
The sub-county directors spoke on behalf of the Commission Secretary
The staffing officer is the sub-county or county human resources officer’s representative, and there is an administrative assistant on each panel.
ROLES OF EACH PANEL MEMBER, INCLUDING THE;
Chairperson
The following roles belong to the chairperson:
- Being in charge of the hiring committee
- Provide the panelists access to questions and questioning spaces.
- Select the exercise’s start time and the level of professionalism.
- Welcome to the panel, all candidates.
- Identify panelists and candidates, then conclude the interview process.
Secretary representative
The Commission Secretary Representative will act as the panel’s secretary, helping to take notes, verify the candidates’ documentation, and make recommendations to the panel as needed. At the conclusion of the exercise, the Commission Secretary Representative will compile the interview report (in consultation with other team members) for submission to the Regional Director.
The administrative support officers will set up interview rooms and materials, organize the candidates and their documents, and alert the panels to any irregularities on the candidates’ documents, while the director representative will assist the Chairperson and Commission secretary representatives in conducting the interviews.
The Teachers Service Commission interviews are done annually for promotion of teachers from respective job grades. This is to ensure that teachers doesn’t stuck in one job grade for more than 3 years. For one to be promoted he/she has to showcase the required qualifications to the interview panel.
