TSC To Commence Recruiting ECDE Teachers
TSC To Commence Recruiting ECDE Teachers. The President has received suggestions from the Presidential Education Taskforce. The largest gainers if the president follows the proposals as already adopted will be ECDE teachers.
The research suggests that, like other teachers, Early Childhood and Development Education instructors should be appointed by the Teachers Service Commission.
Yesterday marked the conclusion of the presidential taskforce on education reform’s allotted term. This came after it presented the final suggestions it had generated. Note that the same commission advised the government to locate junior secondary schools in currently operating elementary schools.
The panel also advocated for the appointment of more than 35000 instructors.
The council of governors initially supported counties hiring ECDE instructors on a permanent and pensionable basis. Additionally, the council distributed pay scales to these teachers who possess certificates, diplomas, and degrees.

A certificate holder should receive Sh 24837, a diploma holder should receive Sh 34395, and a degree holder should receive Sh 46494. But it’s unfortunate that the majority of counties never did that.
The sad truth is that many counties have yet to permanently hire these teachers. This indicates that these teachers are employed under contract and are paid differently.
ECDE teachers will be moved and begin working for TSC once the taskforce report is accepted. The organization advises that P1 and ECDE teachers with equivalent diplomas be hired, placed in the same job group, and allowed to collaborate.
Additionally, they ought to have comparable pay and benefits. We’ll let you know as soon as the report receives the president’s approval.
