Nominated CAS In Kenya 2023. On March 16, President William Ruto proposed 50 candidates for the position of Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in various ministries and government departments.
The National Assembly will now have the opportunity to review the nominees after Chief of Public Service Felix Koskei revealed them in a statement.
Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, who has been nominated to work in the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade, and Investments, was one of the well-known names on the list.
Former Kipkelion East MP Joseph Limo was nominated to serve as a CAS in the National Treasury, alongside former Tharaka Nithi Woman Rep Beatrice Nkatha. Other recognisable names on the list include digital strategist Dennis Itumbi, former Nairobi Women Rep Millicent Omanga, and former Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura.

Other benefits include two government-issued vehicles, a driver, police officers to guard their homes, a personal assistant, and two secretaries.
They also enjoy a state-funded medical cover of Ksh3 million for outpatient services and Ksh10 for inpatient care.
Salary and Benefits for CAS
CASs are currently categorized by the Public Service Commission (PSC) under CSG 3, which is the same as work Group V. Without including any additional monthly allowances, they are entitled to a salary of Sh765,188 per month.
Also, they are eligible for a one-time car grant of Ksh10 million and a Ksh35 million mortgage. The state will pay a total of Ksh2.2 billion for mortgages and auto handouts if all CASs take advantage of these benefits.
