Ruto promises 500 Million for the Nyamira Industrial Park. The president, H.E. William Samoei Ruto, was hosted by H.E. Amos Nyaribo in Sironga, Nyamira County.
Governor Nyaribo, who spoke at the ceremony, thanked the president for making time out of his busy schedule to travel to Nyamira, calling it a historic visit since it was his first as president of the Republic of Kenya.
The governor described the development projects he wanted to see implemented and finished, and he asked the national government to support them by channeling resources in that direction.
They include:Nyamira Industrial Park,Magwagwa Green Stadium, Sironga Airport, the Sigowet(Kericho)-Magwagwa Bridge and Magwagwa dam for irrigation and electricity generation.
He said if the mentioned projects will be established they will elevate lives and improve the economy of the County.
“Your excellency if the projects will be established they will elevate our people by reducing levels of poverty and also improve our economy ” said the Governor.
He also used the platform to announce that its high time the Nyamira leadership laid their political differences aside and seek to work with the Kenya Kwanza Government to aid the president execute his mandate so as to deliver his promises to the Kenyan people.
“I don’t advocate for politics of division, I want to pledge my allegiance and assure you of my commitment and support of the Kenya Kwanza Agenda.
I will ensure that all the County leadership is united so that we can prosper economically “, added the Governor.
The president, Dr. William Samoei Ruto assured Governor Nyaribo that he will use the 20 acres of land issued by the County Government to start constructing the first phase of the affordable housing which he said will reduce fragmentation of land,create jobs for the youth and enhance food security since people will use their land for Agricultural purpose instead of having residential areas.
He also called upon investors to fund the projects so that in 3 to 4 months he will come back to launch the project.
” The affordable housing is a great venture since it will reduce fragmentation of land,add more food and create jobs for our youth” , said the President.
He also backed the idea of the Industrial Park and promised that he will release in the next budget a sum of 500 million to ensure the park is complete for it will help in value addition ,employment and also put money in the pockets of farmers to improve the economy of the Lake region Block.
The president further assured the people that he will ensure the Sigowet( Kericho)- Magwagwa (Nyamira ) Bridge project is complete to bring about cohesion in the region.
The president also donated 400 laptops to be given to 4 County training Colleges to grow digital jobs.
Dr Ruto further thanked the Nyamira people for voting for him overwhelmingly, he asked the elected leaders opposing him to join his Government so that they do not stagnate development.
” Thank you for your votes, you did a good job for the hustler to become president,let’s join hands so that we can transform our Nation, let’s not waste time”, Ruto said.
The Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Zachariah Njeru on his part welcomed the affordable housing idea and stated that indeed, Sironga will be a one stop area for the three major projects to be implemented by the president.
The president is in a 3 day tour in the Nyanza region,Kisii/Nyamira/Migori.
The president was accompanied by National leaders, Kisii and Nyamira Elected leaders and County Officials. Among them being South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, Kisii Governor Simba Arati among others.
